The San Marcos River is one of the best rivers in the Texas Hill Country to fish due to its wide variety of species to target, its scenery, and its uniqueness to other rivers in Central Texas. This spring fed river gives an angler the opportunity for Guadalupe, Smallmouth, Largemouth, and Striped bass, as well as Carp, Gar, and a wide variety of Sun Fish. Its thick vegetation, and massive trees and mud wall banks give off a true “jungle feel” comparing to places like the Amazon in South America in certain areas.
